Angļu romantisma dzejas tulkojumi latviešu valodā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs veltīts dzejas tulkošanai. Tā tēma ir “The Translations of English Romanticist Poems into Latvian” jeb “Angļu romantisma dzejas tulkojumi latviešu valodā”. Tas apraksta tulkojamo tekstu tipus, dzejas tulkošanas metodes un problēmas. Salīdzinošā analīze pētī angļu romantisma dzejas tulkojumus latviešu valodā, salīdzinot tulkojumu ar oriģinālu un nosakot paveiktā tulkojuma metodes, problēmas un rezultātu. Darba mērķis ir pierādīt hipotēzi: tulkotājs nevar pilnībā iztulkot dzejoli, saglabājot visus tā aspektus, tomēr viņš/-a ir atbildīgs/-a par tulkojuma paveikšanu pēc iespējas labāk, saglabājot oriģināla galvenās iezīmes. Pētījuma rezultātā ir radušies vairāki secinājumi, kas saistīti ar dzejas tulkošanas būtību. Secinājumi apstiprina to, ka dzejas tulkošana ir sarežģīts darbs, ko labi veikt var talantīgi tulkotāji, lai gan vienmēr būs manāma kāda atšķirība starp tulkojumu un oriģinālo dzejoli.

The present BA paper is devoted to the poetry translation. The theme of the Bachelor thesis is “The Translations of English Romanticist Poems into Latvian”. It describes the translation text types, the methods of poetry translation and the problems in poetry translation. The comparative analysis researches the Latvian translations of English Romanticist poetry, comparing the translation with the original and detecting the methods, problems and result of the translation made. The purpose of the present thesis is to prove the hypothesis: a poem cannot be translated perfectly preserving all the aspects of it, though the translator is responsible for making the translation as best as he/she can, preserving the main characteristics of the original. The research has resulted in many conclusions dealing with the characteristics of poetry translation. The conclusions mainly affirm that poetry translation is a difficult work which can be done well by talented translators, though there will always be some difference between the translation and the original poem.
