Fona zināšanu nozīme S.S.Montefiores darba "Jaunais Staļins" tulkojumā

Abstract

Diplomdarbā ir analizēta fona zināšanu nozīme S. Montefiores biogrāfijas „Jaunais Staļins” tulkojumā no angļu valodas latviešu valodā. Darba mērķis ir atspoguļot fona zināšanu lomu literārā darba "Jaunais Staļins” tulkojumā. Darbā ir izmantota bibliogrāfiskās pētniecības metode un piemēru analīze, salīdzinot tulkojumu ar oriģinālu. Galvenokārt darbā ir pētītas priekšzināšanas, kas attiecas uz PSRS, Kaukāza un Lielbritānijas kultūru. Pētījuma rezultātā ir pierādīta hipotēze, ka tulkošanas problēmu avots ir kultūras reālijas, kuru adekvātai atveidei tulkojumā ir nepieciešamas plašas priekšzināšanas tādās jomās kā pasaules vēsture, atšķirīgu tautu nacionālās un kultūras iezīmes, kā arī literārais mantojums.

The diploma paper analyses the necessity of background knowledge in the translation of „Young Stalin” by S.S. Montefiore from English into Latvian. The aim of the research is to reflect the role of background knowledge in the translation of the literary work “Young Stalin”. For the diploma paper a bibliographic research method has been used, as well as the analysis of the original work and its translation. Mainly, the background knowledge related to the cultures of the USSR, the Caucasus, and Britain is studied. The research proves the hypothesis that translation problems occur due to culture realias, for the adequate rendition of which broad background knowledge in such areas like world history, national and culture features of diverse peoples, and the literary heritage is necessary.
