Dotais pētījums apluko dzīvnieku tēlu platu izmantošanu kinematogrāfijā. Darbs skaidro nolūkus tēlu izmantošanā un kā tie darbojās stāstījumā. Tehniskie veidi dzīvnieku filmēšanā ir aprakstīti darbā. Darbā ir aplukoti dažādi kinematogrāfijas žanri, kuri parāda dzīvnieku tēlus; katrs žanrs piešķir tēliem noteiktu nozīmi. Dažas filmas ar dzīvnieku tēliem ir izpētīti šajā darbā lai uzsvērtu tas veiksmīgu parādīšanos kinofilmā. Šausmu žanrs ir aizskarts darbā tādēļ, kā īpaša uzmanība tiek veltīta Alfrēda Hičkoka filmai „Putni”. Hičkoks pastāstīja stāstu par cilvēkiem izmantojot putnus. Dzīvnieku tēli pieroda savu efektīvitāti režisora vēstījumu sūtīšānā auditorijai. Kopā ar cilvēku tēliem dzīvnieku tēli spēlē svarīgu lomu pasaules kinematogrāfijā.

The paper explains the aims for which they are used and how they function within the narration. The techniques of shooting animals are described. Different genres present the characters in film, each employing them with a certain meaning. Several films with animal characters are investigated in the research to point out thier succeful appearance in a motion picture. Horror genre is being touched upon as the particular focus of the research is based on Alfred Hitchcock’s film ”The Birds”. Hitchcock had told the story about people using the birds. The animal characters proved their effectiveness in presenting the director’s message to the audience. Along with human characters animals play an important role in world cinematography.
