Precīzas vārdu izvēles un brīva valodas lietojuma nozīme svešvalodu apguvē

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Precīzas vārdu izvēles un brīva valodas lietojuma nozīme svešvalodas apguvē”. Darbam ir divi mērķi. Pirmais mērķis ir noskaidrot principus, pēc kuriem angļu filoloģijas pirmā un ceturtā kursa studenti izdara izvēli par labu konkrētiem vārdiem noteiktā kontekstā. Otrais mērķis ir analizēt brīva valodas lietojuma pilveidošanas stratēģiju izplatību abu studentu grupu starpā. Bakalaura darbā tiek apskatīti lingvistiskie aspekti, kuri ietekmē vārdu krājuma apguvi, lietošanu, kā arī brīvu valodas lietojumu. Praktiskā daļa tiek veikta ar kvalitatīvās un kvantitatīvās analīzes palīdzību. Pētījumā noteikts, ka angļu filoloģijas pirmā kursa studenti vārdu izvēli izdara, balstoties uz formalitātes līmeni un varbūtību, ka izvēlētais vārds ir atbilstošs konkrētajā situācijā. Ceturtā kursa studenti galvenokārt balstās uz vārdkopu veidošanas principa. Pētījumā netika konstatētas redzamas atšķirības brīva valodas lietojuma pilnveidošanas stratēģiju izplatībā star abām studentu grupām.

The theme of the bachelor thesis is “The Aspect of Accuracy and Fluency in Foreign Language Classroom”. The research has two goals. The first goal is to examine the principles according to which the first and fourth year students of English Philology choose a lexical unit in a particular context. The second goal is to study the distribution of fluency management strategies among the two groups of students. In the bachelor thesis the linguistic aspects influencing the acquisition and use of vocabulary are discussed; the concepts relevant to fluency are described as well. The empirical part of the thesis is performed by qualitative and quantitative research. The research demonstrates that the choice of a lexical unit among the first year students of English Philology is based on the level of formality and a possibility that a chosen word is appropriate in the particular context. The fourth year students mainly rely on collocations. Concerning the aspect of fluency, no differences in the distribution of fluency management strategies were observed.
