Tulkošanas tradīcijas Latvijā pēc 1918. gada Gerharta Hauptmaņa romāna “Die Insel der grossen Mutter oder das Wunder von Île des dames” latviskajā tulkojumā

Abstract

Bakalaura darba „Tulkošanas tradīcijas Latvijā pēc 1918. gada Gerharta Hauptmaņa romāna „Die Insel der grossen Mutter oder das Wunder von Île des Dames” latviskajā tulkojumā” mērķis ir izpētīt un aprakstīt attiecīgā laika posma tulkošanas tradīcijas un tās ietekmējošos faktorus. Tulkojuma analīze balstās uz personvārdu, reāliju, kā arī literāra darba nosaukuma atveidi mērķa valodā. Darbs sniedz īsu pārskatu par pēckara gadu notikumiem politikā, ekonomikā un to, kāda ietekme tiem ir uz kultūras dzīvi, literatūru un tulkošanas tradīciju attīstību. Pēc Pirmā Pasaules kara tulkošanas tradīcijas Latvijā veicina straujā izdevniecību attīstība, taču izdevēji bieži vien kā prioritāti izvēlas peļņu, nevis kvalitatīvus darbu tulkojumus. Veicot tulkojuma analīzi, tiek secināts, ka tulkojums, kas publicēts laikrakstā „Kurzemes Vārds” nereti ir sasteigts, ir daudz drukas kļūdu, personvārdi atveidoti pavirši un neprecīzi. Bakalaura darba pielikumā ir tabulas, kurās sagrupēti īpašvārdi, kādi tie ir atrodami oriģinālā, kā arī to attiecīgais atveidojums latviešu valodā.

The aim of the Bachelor Paper "The tradition of translation in Latvia after the year 1918. Gerhart Hauptmann’s novel 'The Island of the Great Mother, or, the Miracle of Île des Dames' and its translation in Latvian” is to investigate and describe the translation traditions in the corresponding period and find out the elements which can affect them. The analysis of the translation is based on the reproduction and translation of the novels’ title, proper nouns and realia in the target language. The present Bachelor Paper draws up a summary report about the events after the World War One in politics, economics and the way they affect the culture, literature and the development of the translation traditions. The rapid growth of the publishing houses after the year 1918 stimulated the progress of translation traditions although their priority was mostly to gain profit instead of translation in a good quality. After performing the translations analysis it came to the conclusion that the translation, published in the newspaper ''Kurzemes Vārds” in the year 1925, is hurried, imprecise and with many spelling errors also the persons’ names are given inaccurately. In the appendix of the Bachelor Paper are listed the proper nouns, foreign words, realia and phraseologies found in the novel of G. Hauptmann and in its translation.
