The title of Bachelor’s paper is “Reference of non-equivalent lexis in novels translations”. The main aim is to explore through theoretic and empiric analysis problems involving reproduction of non-equivalent lexis. The target of the research is to establish: which units of lexis are considered to be difficult to translate and untranslatable, which methods can be used reproducing non-equivalent lexis, which methods are used by the translators of the novels and what are the results applying particular technique.
Having researched and compared the strategies of non-equivalent lexis reproduction, which are put into practise in translations of two novels, it is clarified, which method in a particular case is the most effective settlement of translation problem.
