Ģeogrāfisko nosaukumu poblemātika un Latvijas vieta toponīmijas ainavā
Zusammenfassung
Šā pētījuma mērķis bija parādīt to, kas toponīmijas jomā ir izdarīts un tiek darīts joprojām Apvienoto Nāciju līmenī, kā arī identificēt, kādas pozīcijas ģeogrāfisko nosaukumu pasaulē ieņem Latvija. Tāpat viens no galvenajiem uzdevumiem bija pierādīt, ka šā brīža apstākļos trūkst gribas un autoritatīvu resursu, kas varētu uzlabot pašreizējo situāciju.
Darbs sastāv no četrām galvenajām daļām. Pirmajā raksturota ANO politika un nosacījumi, ko šī organizācija ievēro un izstrādā saistībā ar ģeogrāfiskajiem nosaukumiem; otrajā raksturota toponīmijas situācija Latvijā; trešā demonstrē Latvijas vietu elektroniskajās datu bāzēs, bet ceturtā – apraksta Krievijas ģeogrāfisko nosaukumu nacionālo reģistru.
Secinājumi ir sekojoši: 1) Ir acīmredzams, ka starptautiskās organizācijas strādā ar toponīmijas jautājumiem, taču ar šiem centieniem nepietiek 2) Latvijai vēl ir daudz darāmā gan nacionālā, gan starptautiskā līmenī (un tas attiecas ne tikai uz ANO) 3) Nācijām trūkst savstarpējas cieņas. The purpose of this paper is to describe the procedures which are established in United Nations (in relation with questions that are related to toponymy) and to identify what place in the world of geographical place names is occupied by Latvia.
The paper is also an attempt to prove that there isn’t a lot of will and authoritative sources that could make the present situation better.
The paper is divided into four main chapters. The first is dedicated to the politics of the United Nations and the regulations of this organisation in the field of geographical place names; the second characterizes the situation of toponymy in Latvia; the third reveals the image of Latvia in the data bases and the last one presents the National register of russian geographical place names.
The conclusion: 1) We can see that the international organisations are working in the field of toponymy but these efforts are not enough 2) Latvia has a lot of work to do (on the national and international level) 3) There is not enough respect between the nations.
