It contains a review on the meaning of new media and its importance in communication.
The research was carried out in accordance with a survey and a semi-structured interview with the youngest generation of Latvian emigrants as the potential group that could be interested in Latvian media as well as keeping a connection with their home country and returning to their homeland.
By conducting a survey of such type it was possible to gain information about the habits of Internet use and the needs of the surveyed people, whereas the semi-structured interview investigated the connection between media consumption, different needs and the time that has been spent abroad.
