Bakalaura darbā „Meklētājprogrammu izmantošana informācijas meklēšanai internetā” veikts pētījums, lai noskaidrotu, kuras no meklētājprogrammām lietotāji izmanto informācijas meklēšanai.
Problēmsituācija un pētījuma problēma ir, ka meklēšana ne vienmēr ir efektīva. Pētījuma problēmsituāciju rada tas, ka informācija, kuru lietotājs meklē, ne vienmēr sniedz vēlamo rezultātu.
Pētījuma mērķis ir uzzināt, kādā veidā aptaujātie lietotāji meklē informāciju, kā arī uzzināt, vai informācijas meklēšana ar meklētājprogrammām internetā ir populāra, un pierādīt, vai hipotēze, ka Google šobrīd ir populārākais meklētājs, apstiprinās.
Rezultātā var secināt, ka interneta lietotājiem informācijas meklēšana internetā ir nozīmīga un neatņemama sastāvdaļa, tāpēc tā ir nepieciešama, lai palīdzētu kvalitatīvāk un ātrāk izzināt tīmekļa vietnes.
