Maģistra darba tēma ir Banku koncentrācijas ietekme uz finanšu tirgus konkurenci. Maģistra darba mērķis ir izvērtēt banku koncentrācijas ietekmi uz finanšu tirgus konkurenci Eiropas reģionā, kā arī izstrādāt priekšlikumus banku konkurētspējas paaugstināšanai.
Darbs sastāv no trim nodaļām. Pirmajā nodaļā tiek apskatīti banku koncentrācijas un finanšu tirgus konkurences teorētiskie aspekti. Otrajā nodaļā tiek veikta Eiropas Savienības banku sektora stabilitātes un konkurētspējas izvērtēšana pēc Panzara-Rossa modeļa. Trešajā nodaļā tiek veikts pētījums par Latvijas banku konkurētspēju un stabilitāti koncentrācijas ietekmē.
Izmantojot H-statistikas aprēķinus un izvērtējot banku koncentrāciju kopš 1993.gada, tika secināts, ka Latvijas banku sektorā ir veselīga konkurence un banku koncentrācija pozītīvi ietekmē to konkurētspēju.

Master thesis is to examine bank concentration impacts on the financial market competition in the European region, and to develop proposals to increase the competitiveness of banks.
The paper is divided into three parts. The first chapter addresses the concentration of the banking and financial market competition theoretical aspects. In the second chapter investigated European Union banking sector and competitiveness analysis by Panzar-Rosse model. The third chapter consists of the research of the Latvian banking competitiveness and stability effected of the concentration.
Using the H-statistic calculations and evaluation of bank concentration since 1993, concluded that in the Latvian banking sector is healthy competition and bank concentration positively affects their competitiveness.
