| dc.description.abstract | Darbā tiek izskatītas trīs mūsdienās pietiekami pazīstamo un konkurējošo videokodeku DivX 6, Windows Media Video 9 un x264 pašreizējās pozīcijas un tendences, kā arī izskatītas video kodeku testēšanas un to saspiešanas kvalitātes salīdzināšanas metodes. Darba autors uz aprakstīto metožu piemēriem salīdzina augstāk minētos kodekus un veic savu testu rezultātu atbilstības analīzi realitātei. Darbā tiek veikti testi, kas katram kodekam rāda kodēšanai nepieciešamo laiku un procesora noslogojumu konkrētajam video fragmentam. Autors izdara secinājumus par viena vai otra kodeka lietošanas iespējām konkrētā situācijā. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | The goal of this paper is to review the current tendencies and positions of the three of today’s quite popular competing video codecs DivX6, Windows Media 9 and x264, as well as testing and comparing the video codecs’ compressing qualities. Using the aforementioned tests as an example, the author compares the codecs and then conducts his own analysis on how the results of these tests reflect reality. During this research the author also found out how much time and processing work it took to encode a concrete video fragment using each codec. In the end, he came to certain conclusions about the possibilities of using specific codecs in specific situation. | en_US |
