Abstract
Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 38 lapām, satur 24 attēlus, 24 literatūras avotu atsauksmes.
Atslēga vārdi: glaukoma, IOS, redzes asums, redzes lauks.
Darba mērķis: Atspoguļot optometrista lomu glaukomas skrīningā.
Subjekti: Optikas apmeklētāji, sievietes un vīrieši vecumā no 17 līdz 78 gadiem.
Metode: No 522 optikas klientiem ar aizdomām par glaukomu oftalmoloģiski padziļināti tika izmeklēti 42 pacienti.
Rezultāti:. Paaugstināts IOS atrasts 6 pacientiem, 36 pacientiem atzīmēts normāls IOS. Secinājumi: 1. Pacienti ir tikai daļēji informēti par savu slimību.
2. Atrasts, ka ap 4% no iedzīvotajiem, kas griezās optikā, lai saņemtu jaunas brilles, ir glaukoma.
3. Novērots, kā 60% pacientiem ar glaukomu IOS asimetrija abās acīs ir līdz 2mm Hg, kas tiek uzskatīts par normu.
4. Konstatēts, ka tikai 20% pacientiem ar glaukomu ir paaugstināts IOS un 80% ir normas robežās.

Method: From 522 visitors of optic store 42 with suspected glaucoma went through ophthalmologic examination. Results: Elevated IOP was found in 6 patients, while the remaining 36 patients have been diagnosed with normal IOP. . Conclusions: 1. Patients are not fully aware of their illness. 2. Was found, that 4% of optic store visitors have glaucoma. 3. 60% with glaucoma have a symmetrical IOP within 2mmHg. 4. Was found, that only 20% patients with glaucoma have an elevated IOP, but 80% it is normal.
