Ķermeņa caurduršanas prakšu ietekme uz priekšstatiem par ķermeni

Abstract

Šajā pētījumā aplūkots, kā priekšstati par ķermeni ietekmē ķermeņa caurduršanas prakses. Pētījuma ietvaros tika intervēti no 16 līdz 30 gadu veci Latvijas jaunieši, kuri veic ķermeņa caurduršanu, sevišķu uzmanību vēršot uz ķermeni – atklājot priekšstatus par ķermeni, to ietekmi uz ķermeņa caurduršanas praksēm. kā ķermeņa izskata mainīšana mainījusi viņu priekšstatus par savu ķermenisko pašizjūtu un kā šie jaunieši izjūt savu ķermeni ar un/vai bez “svešķermeņa” ķermenī. Ķermeņa pīrsings drīzāk kalpo kā ķermeņa sastāvdaļa, nevis kā metāla rota. Pētījuma gaitā tika novērots, ka, praktizējot ķermeņa caurduršanu, indivīdi pilnveido savos priekšstatos savu ķermeņa izskatu, sasniedz sakņoto skaistuma ideālu, proti, viņu prātos viņu pašu ķermenis kļūst skaists, pievilcīgs. Ar ķermeņa caurduršanu jaunieši iegūst vēlamo formu un pozicionē sevi konkrētā subkultūrā. Ķermeņa pīrsings veido ķermenisko pašizjūtu, kas indivīdiem liek justies pašpārliecinātiem, piešķir drošības sajūtu, signalizē individualitāti un aizsargātību, kā arī kalpo kā savstarpējās atpazīstamības kods plašākā sabiedrībā, proti, subkultūrā, koncertos.

The research examines the way the views on the body affect the practices of the body piercing. For this research the author has interviewed Latvians aged 16-30 who have had their body pierced. The author has paid a particular attention to the body – having disclosed the views on the body, the effect these views have on the body piercing practices, how the changes in the way how the body looks have altered their personality, physical awareness and the ways these young people feel about their bodies with and/or without a “foreign body” in their bodies. The body piercing becomes more of a part of the body than just a metal ornament decorating it. In the course of the research the author has observed that while practicing the body piercing the individuals believe they improve their body looks, reach a deeply rooted in and longed for beauty ideal, that is, they believe that the body has acquired a certain beauty and attractiveness. With body piercing the individuals get a desired form, and position themselves in a certain subculture. The body piercing develops the bodily self-awareness that makes these individuals feel self-confident, gives them a sense of safety, signalizes individuality and protectability, as well as serves the purposes of a mutually recognizable code in a wider society whether it is a certain subculture, concerts and so on.
