Bakalaura darbs veltīts dabas attēlojumam Apgaismības laikmeta angļu literatūrā. Darbā tiek pētītas un analizētas Apgaismības laikmeta galvenās iezīmes un idejas, kā tās ietekmē Apgaismības laikmeta literatūru, mākslu, domāšanu, kādi ir slavenākie šī laikmeta rakstnieki un dzejnieki, kuri savos darbos apraksta un cildina dabu .Bakalaura darbā tiek pētīts, kā veidojās pirmie angļu ainavu dārzi , pirmsākumi angļu mākslas galerijas izveidē un tūrismā, un kā tas tiek attēlots Apgaismības laikmeta rakstnieku darbos. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir pierādīt hipotēzi: pretēji tam, ka Apgaismības laikmets ir prāta, zinātnes un tehnikas attīstības laikmets, daudzos literatūras darbos tika slavināta un aprakstīta daba, tādējādi radot pirmās romantisma pazīmes angļu literatūrā. Pētījuma rezultātā radās vairāki secinājumi, kas apstiprina., ka ne tikai dabas attēlojums un slavināšana bija Apgaismības laikmeta literatūras iezīme, tā veicināja un bija par pamatu arī sentimentālisma attīstībai pirms romantisma laikmeta literatūrā.

The present Bachelor Paper is devoted to the depiction of Nature in English Enlightenment literature. The present research studies and analyses the features and main ideas as they affect Enlightenment literature, art, thinking, the most famous writers and poets of this era, and how they describe and praise Nature. The present research analyses development of the first English landscape gardens, their origins in the development of English Art gallery and tourism, and how they influenced English Enlightenment literature. The purpose of the present thesis is to prove that contrary to the assumption that the Enlightenment is the Age of Reason, science and tehnology development, numerous literary works depicted and praised Nature, showing first signs of Romanticism in English literature. The research has resulted in several conclusions. The conclusions prove that depiction and glorification of Nature in English Enlightenment literature despite of the development science and technology was the bases and one of the features of Sentimentalism.
