Relevances teorijas aspekti konferenču tulkošanā

Abstract

Maģistra darbs „Relevances teorijas aspekti konferenču tulkošanā” ir pētījums ar mērķi izstrādāt vadlīnijas tulkiem, kas saskaras ar tulkošanas problēmām, tādējādi palīdzot nodrošināt tulkošanas pamatprincipiem atbilstošu tulkojumu. Darbā ir aprakstīti tādi jautājumi kā tulkošanas pamatprincipi un problēmas, relevances principi un to pielietojums tulkošanā, kā arī tulkošanas stratēģijas, kas tiek lietotas, lai ievērotu relevances principus. Iepriekšminētie jautājumi ir aprakstīti, izmantojot deskriptīvo pētījumu metodi, analītisko un kvantitatīvo metodi, kas izmantotas, lai pētītu 41 piemēru no autentiskām angļu un franču runām, kas tulkotas latviešu valodā. Pētījumā secināts, ka pastāv dažādas ar redukciju saistītas tulkošanas stratēģijas, kas tiek izmantotas, lai risinātu tulkošanas problēmas un ievērotu relevances principus, kas ir ārkārtīgi nozīmīgi tulkošanā.

The master thesis “Aspects of relevance theory in conference interpreting” is written to elaborate guidelines for interpreter who is encountering problems during interpretation to convey a relevant message and a performance that would be compatible with the basic principles of interpreting. Such questions as the principles and problems pertaining to interpreting, the principles of relevance and their application in interpreting, as well as the interpreting strategies used to satisfy the principles of relevance are discussed in the thesis. The previously mentioned questions are discussed critically evaluating the theoretical literature on the subject matter, as well as using the quantitative research method, applied to 41 examples from authentic English and French speeches interpreted into Latvian. The research results show that there are various reduction-oriented interpreting strategies which are applied to solve the interpreting problems and to satisfy the principles of relevance crucial for interpreting.
