Abstract

Bakalaura darbs analizē humora un satīras lietojumu Džeinas Ostinas romānā “Lepnums un aizspriedumi” un to lomu 18. gadsimta beigu sieviešu personīgo un sociālo problēmu atspoguļošanā. Bakalaura darbs izzina Džeinas Ostinas humora un satīras izpratni un to nozīmi romānā. Pētījums aplūko, kāpēc Džeina Ostina izmantojusi humoru un satīru, konkrēto tēlu sociālas uzvedības raksturošanā. Pētījums atklāj, ka humors un satīra izsaka rakstnieces sašutumu par viņas laika sieviešu problēmām. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt Džeinas Ostinas humora un satīras lietošanas cēloņus izmantojot interesantus faktus no rakstnieces biogrāfijas, viņas laika sociālo vēsturi, ilustrācijas no viņas romāna “Lepnums un aizspriedumi” un citus avotus.

The bachelor paper is devoted to the analysis of Jane Austen’s use of humour and satire in her novel “Pride and Prejudice” and its role in depicting women’s personal and social issues at the end of the 18th century. The paper explores Jane Austen’s perception of humour and satire and their role in the novel. It is considered why Jane Austen used humorous and satirical devices in relation to certain characters of the novel and their social behaviour. The paper reveals that humour and satire in the novel serve as a tool of transmitting to readers Jane Austen’s indignation about women’s issues of her time. The purpose of this research is to explore the reasons of Jane Austen’s use of humour and satire in “Pride and Prejudice” by giving cognitive facts from writer’s biography, social history of her time, illustrations from her novel “Pride and Prejudice”, and other sources.
