Klonēšanas problēmas Kazuo Išiguro romānā "Neļauj man aiziet" un Deivida Mitčela romānā "Mākoņu atlants"

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā tiek pētītas klonēšanas problēmas Kazuo Išiguro romānā Neļauj man aiziet un Deivida Mitčela romānā Mākonis Atlass. Šie divi romāni ataino klonēšanas problēmas sociālos, politiskos un emocionālos aspektus. Šie distopiskie romāni atklāj valdošo institūciju attieksmi pret neklonēto cilvēku sabiedrību un klonu sabiedrību. Darbs sniedz īsu ieskatu romānu analīzei nepieciešamajās postmodernisma filozofijas teorijās, distopiskās literatūras teorijā un klonēšanas ētikā. Lai sasniegtu šos mērķus, tiek pielietotas teorētiskās pētīšanas metodes, kas iekļauj atbilstošās postmodernisma literatūras apskatu. Praktiskās metodes ir divos romānos aprakstīto klonēšanas problēmu analīze un interpretācija, kā arī tiek izmantota salīdzināšanas un pretnostatīšanas metode. Pētījuma rezultātā tika izdarīts secinājums, ka sabiedrība tic politiskās varas radītajam priekšstatam, ka kloni ir mazāk cilvēcīgi nekā cilvēki.

This paper discusses the issues of cloning in the Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel Never Let Me Go and in the David Mitchell’s novel Cloud Atlas. The two books depict issues of cloning and its social, political and emotional aspects. These dystopian novels reveal attitude of governmental institutions toward society of non-clones and clones. The paper provides an overview of postmodern philosophical theories, theory of dystopian literature and ethics of cloning relevant to the analysis of the novel and discussion of the issues of cloning. For this purpose, it uses theoretical methods of research, which consists in the studying of the relevant literature on postmodernism. The practical methods are the analysis and interpretation of the two novels and contrast and comparison of clones and society of non-clones in the two novels. The paper shows that the public believe in the discourse, that clones are less than humans, created by political power.
