Vārdu apguves stratēģiju loma vārdu krājuma palielināšanā

Abstract

Vārdi ir valodas pamata sastāvdaļa, tādēļ vārdu krājuma mācīšanās stratēģiju izpētei vienmēr būs liela nozīme. Darbā tiek aprakstīti vārdu krājuma apguves procesa pamatprincipi un vārdu apgūšanas metodes, to loma vārdu krājuma palielināšanā. Tāpat tika veikta studentu aptauja par vārdu mācīšanās stratēģiju pielietojumu, lai sasniegtu pētījuma mērķi. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt vārdu krājuma apgūšanas procesu, aprakstīt atzītākās vārdu mācīšanās paņēmienus, uzzināt kādas stratēģijas mūsdienās izmanto studenti, lai apgūtu jaunus vārdus un to pielietojuma iemeslus. Izpētes rezultātā tika atklāts, ka nepastāv ideālas jaunu vārdu apguves metodes, kas ir vienlīdz piemērota visiem. Tāpēc katram ir jāpiemēro individuāli izvēlēta jauna vārdu krājuma apguves metode. Tika secināts, ka jauna vārdu krājuma apguves stratēģijas izvēle ir atkarīga no katra indivīda mācīšanās spējām un priekšzināšanām. Līdz ar to jaunas leksikas apguvējam ir svarīgi būt informētam par aktuālākajām mācīšanās metodēm.

‘Words are the basic building blocks of language’ thus, researching vocabulary learning strategies will always be of great importance (Read, 2000:1). Basic concepts of the process of vocabulary acquisition, VLSs and their role in increase of vocabulary are being investigated as a number of students are given questionnaire with questions about their usage of VLSs. The aim of the research is to analyze the process of acquiring new vocabulary, to describe the most recognized VLSs, to find out what strategies students are using for acquiring new lexis and why they use exactly the ones they mention. The research has revealed that there is no ideal VLS or instruction that is equally suitable for all learners. Therefore, it is necessary to apply an individually selected VLS for each student.The choice of VLS depends on the learner's abilities and background knowledge. Thus, it is important for the learner to be aware of innovative and effective VLS to use the one that is the most suitable.
