Dievības un dēmoni antīkajā varoņeposā

Abstract

Maģistra darba „Dievības un dēmoni antīkajā varoņeposā” ietvaros veiktajā pētījumā tiek atklāta dievību un dēmonu funkcionalitāte grieķu-romiešu varoņeposā – Vergilija "Eneīdā" un Homēra "Īliadā". "Eneīdā" un "Īliadā" ir koncentrēts plašs antīkās pasaules mitoloģiskais materiāls, ar kura palīdzību iespējams identificēt ne tikai augstākos dievus, bet arī zemākas kārtas dievības un nelabvēlīgus dēmonus. Mitoloģiskais materiāls reprezentē antīkās pasaules cilvēku saikni ar pārdabiskām būtnēm. "Eneīdā" pārdabisko būtņu atspoguļojumā ir vērojams izteiktāks labā-ļaunā nošķīrums nekā "Īliadā", turklāt atsevišķu dievību funkcionalitāte šo abu varoņeposu ietvaros atšķiras. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka dievību un dēmonu funkcionalitāte antīkajā varoņeposā izpaužas gan kā fiziska un/vai emocionāla labuma vai ļaunuma nodarīšana, gan pareģošana, gan saikne ar debesīm.

In the study performed within the framework of the master’s thesis „Deities and Deamons in the Ancient Heroic Epic”, the functionality of deities and deamons in the Greco-roman heroic epic – Virgil’s "Aeneid" and Homer’s "Iliad" – is revealed. The "Aeneid" and the "Iliad" encompass vast mythological material of the ancient world, in which it is possible to identify not only the superior gods, but also inferior deities and even maleficent deamons. The mythological material also represents the link between supernatural beings and people in antiquity. The portrayal of the supernatural beings in the "Aeneid" shows more explicit distinction between the good and the evil than in the "Iliad", also functionality of certain deities within the framework of the Iliad and the Aeneid differs. The study shows that in the ancient heroic epic the functionality of the deities and the deamons manifests as a physical and/or emotional doing good or harm, as a prediction and as a connection with heaven.
