Šī maģistra darba mērķis ir izpētīt Viljama Šekspīra lugas Makbets mūsdienu adaptācijas. Darbā tiek analizēts, kā dažādi autori savos darbos norāda uz Makbeta sižetu un personāžiem. Šajā pētījumā uzmanība vērsta galvenokārt uz filmām, seriāliem un moderno literatūru. Darbā secināts, ka daudzi autori izmanto tiešu un netiešu norādi uz lugu - gan kā pareģojuma līdzekli, gan personāžu izveidei. Tāpat sastopamas daudzas brīvas Makbeta adoptācijas, starp kurām izceļas satīriskas parodijas.

The paper examines how different works references Macbeth and adopt the plot or characters of the play. The main focus of this research is kept on contemporary novels, films, TV series, and video games. In conclusion, the thesis argues that many works employ both direct and indirect reference to the play for the purposes of foreshadowing and character establishment. In addition to this many works are loose adaptations of Macbeth, many of which are transformational or satirical parodies.
