| dc.description.abstract | Šis bakalaura darbs piedāvā pētījumu par to kā valoda ir lietota finanšu pārskatos, lai nogādātu informāciju mērķauditorijai. Dokuments, kas tiek analizēts ir finanšu pārskati, kas veido Lufthansas grupas 2013. fiskāla gada pārskata nozīmīgu daļu. Pētījuma teorētiskajā pamatā tiek izmantota funkcionālā lingvistika. Pētījums tiek koncentrēts uz lingvistisko izvēli, ko veic finanšu pārskatu autori, lai nogādātu informāciju lasītājam. Šis darbs atklāj kā darbības, dati un fakti tiek atspoguļoti finanšu atskaitēs ar nemateriālās gramatiskās metaforas palīdzību un ciešamās kārtas konstrukciju. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt valodas funkcijas, kas ir finanšu pārskatu pamatā.

| dc.description.abstract | The bachelor thesis presents the investigation on how language is used in financial statements to convey information to the target audience. The document under analysis is the financial statement that is a substantial part of the Lufthansa Group annual report for the fiscal year 2013. In the paper the study theory is adopted from functional linguistics to apply to language usage in financial reports. The research focuses on the linguistic choices made by the authors of the financial statements in order to deliver the information to the reader. The present paper reveals how activities, data and facts are presented in the financial statements via ideational grammatical metaphor and passive contractions. The purpose of the research is to explore the underlying functions of language in the financial statements.
