Successful medical treatment of patient is not possible without effective diagnostics. The result of the examination lies not only with highly skilled personnel (doctor, nurse) and up-to-date technical supply, but depends widely upon patient involvment that is ensured by informing patients and preparing patients for examination.
The essence of the problem – unsatisfactory, low patient awareness level about endoscopic examinations, unprepared patients (both physiologically, and psychologically). Well-timed patient information and preparation for the examination contributes to the quality of the endoscopic examination and provides personnel and patient collaboration.Motivation faciliates examination and part of the patients would not need sedation if their knowledge and preparedness would be sufficient.
