Abstract

Darbā pētīts jautājums kā riteņbraucējs iekļaujas pilsētas vidē. Pētījumā ir izmantotas Pjēra Burdjē sociālās telpas un Marka Gotdīnera sociotelpiskās perspektīvas teorijas. Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kā velosipēdisti maina pilsētas sociālo telpu, un vai Rīgā ir izveidojušies visi nepieciešamie nosacījumi, lai notiktu riteņbraucējiem labvēlīgas sociotelpiskās izmaiņas pilsētas vidē. Pētījuma ietvaros tika veikta dokumentu analīze un padziļinātas, daļēji strukturētas intervijas. Secinājumi. Rīgā ir visi nepieciešamie nosacījumi sociotelpiskām izmaiņām. Pašlaik notiek arī aktīvas izmaiņas sociālajā telpā. Lielākā problēma ir veloceliņu tīkla trūkums pilsētā, kas ir viens no būtiskākajiem velobraucēju iekļaušanās pilsētas vidē faktoriem. Kā arī plaisa starp valsts pārvaldes struktūrām, dotajā gadījumā Rīgas Domi un sabiedrību.

This article examines adaptation of cyclists in urban environment. In the research the P.Bourdieu social space and M.Gottdiener sociospatial approach theories were used. The aim of the research is to understand how the cyclists change the social space of the city and to clarify if Riga has all the necessary conditions so the sociospatial changes propitious for cyclists can occur in urban environment. The analysis of the documentation and partly structured interviews were realized within the framework of the research. Conclusions. Riga has all the necessary conditions for sociospatial changes. At the moment appear also active changes in social space. The major problem is lack of net of bikeways in the city. This factor is one of the major for cyclists to get integrated in urban environment. Another factor is lack of collaboration between Council of Riga and society.
