Darbs “ Cenu līmeņu konverģence: faktori, procesi, laika periodi” aplūko datus par vispārējā cenu līmeņa izmaiņu tendencēm Latvijā attiecībā pret citām Eiropas Savienības valstīm. Tajā tiek aplūkota optimālās valūtas zonas kritēriji, Balassa-Samuelsona teorētiskais modelis un Latvijas atbilstība tiem saistībā ar eiro kā vienotu valūtu Ekonomikas un monetārās savienības valstīs.
Darba mērķis ir aplūkot inflāciju kā vienu no optimālās valūtas zonas kritērijiem un novērtēt, vai inflācija laika gaitā konverģē ar inflāciju Eiropas Savienības un eiro zonas valstīs.
Darbā izmantoti mēnešu dati no 1996.gada janvāra līdz 2008.gada februārim, kas ir analizēti, izmantojot tādas metodes, kā ADF tests, vienības saknes tests, grafiskā analīze u.c. Pētījumā iegūtie rezultāti ļauj secināt, ka Latvijai attiecībā uz Eiropas Savienības valstīm ir vērojama inflācijas konverģence. Price level convergence: factors, processes, time periods is a research about the inflation trends in Latvia and other countries of the European Union. It focuses on the theory of optimal currency area and Balassa-Samuelson theoretical model. It analyses the eligibility to these criteria for Latvia in connection with the euro area and the Economic and Monetary Union.
The aim of this paper is deal with the inflation convergence as one of the optimal currency area criterion and to evaluate the inflation convergence between Latvia and European Union.
This research deals with data from January 1996 to February 2008 that is analyzed with such methods as ADF, unit root test, graphical analysis etc. The results allow concluding that there are observed an inflation convergence between Latvia and other countries of the European Union.
