Abstract
The Master thesis is written in Latvian, contains 44 printed pages, 38 figures, 8 tables, as well as 48 literature sources have been used. Purpose: Determine the amount of particles on the different material types of hydrogel and silicone hydrogel contact lens surfaces. Methods: Dark field illumination method. Results: The particles amount difference between worn and new contactlenses is biggest for hydrogel contact lenses, compared with galyfilcon A, enfilcon, comfilcon A material siliconhydrogel contact lenses. Summary: The particles amount difference between worn and new contactlenses is the biggest for hydrogel contact lenses, compared with galyfilcon A, enfilcon, comfilcon A material siliconhydrogel contact lenses. The particles size distribution of every contact lense material is different. Key words: hydrogel and siliconehydrogel contactlenses, amount of plaque, dark field lightening method.
