Zinātniskā darba vadītājs: Dr.ģeogr., prof. Oļģerts Nikodemus. Darbs sastāv no 61 lpp., 3 pielikumiem, 3 tabulām, 14 attēliem, 51 literatūras avotiem, 9 internetresursiem un 3 nepublicētajiem materiāliem.
Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot vai negatīvā demogrāfiskā situācija marginālās lauku teritorijās ietekmē zemes izmantošanu un līdz ar to ainavu ekoloģisko struktūru. Lauka pētījumu ekspedīcijas tika īstenotas divos piegājienos 2013.gada rudenī. Pētījuma rezultātā apstiprinājās iepriekš izvirzītā darba hipotēze.

The scientific supervisor: Dr.ģeogr., prof. Oļģerts Nikodemus. The work consists of 61 pages, 3 appendixes, 3tables, 14 pictures, 51 literature sources, 9 websites and 3 unpublished materials.
The aim of the study is to find out whether the negative demographic situation in marginal rural areas affects land use and the ecological landscape structure. The field research expeditions were carried out on two steps in the fall of 2013. The study has confirmed previously put forward a work’s hypothesis.
