Bakalaura darbā tiek analizēta mūsdienu reklāmas valoda. Šī tēma tika izvēlēta, jo tā mūsdienās ir aktuāla, tā kā ar reklāmām mūsdienās saskaramies visapkārt. Reklāmas valoda mainās un attīstās kopā ar tehnoloģiju attīstību. Tāpēc diplomdarbā kā viena no tēmām ir aplūkota tehnoloģijas attīstības ietekme mūsdienu reklāmās. Pētījuma mērķis ir analizēt mūsdienu reklāmas valodu pirmvalodā, proti, angļu, nedaudz pievēršoties arī angļu valodas lietojumam reklāmās, kas domātas Latvijas tirgum.
Kā galvenā metodika ir izmantotas reklāmas žurnālos, tai skaitā arī interneta žurnālos. Teorētiskajam pamatojumam izmantota literatūra par tulkošanu, reklāmu un diskursu. Pētījuma rezultātā autore secina, ka mūsdienu reklāmas valoda ir moderna un ļoti daudzveidīga un potenciālo pircēju piesaistīšanai tiek izmantoti dažādi valodas līdzekļi, valoda pārsvarā ir neoficiāla (izņemot darba sludinājumus), bieži tiek izmantota elipse. Pētījumā iekļautas arī salikteņu veidošanas īpatnības reklāmā. Autore arī secina, ka pircēju piesaistei tiek izmantoti dažādi mēdiji un izteiksmes līdzekļi. Pētījumā iekļautas reklāmas, kas izvietotas pārsvarā drukātajā presē.

The theme was chosen because it is a topical issue nowadays as advertising is all over. The language of advertising is changing and developing together with the development of the technologies. Therefore as one of themes discussed in the Thesis is the influence of the development of technologies on contemporary advertising. The aim of the research was to analyse modern language of advertising in the source language, namely, English, drawing attention also to the use of the English language in advertisements promoted to the Latvian market.
The main methodology used is advertisements in magazines, including also online magazines. The theoretical background is based on the literature on translation, advertising and discourse. From the results of the research the author concludes that the language of contemporary language is modern and diverse and to attract potential customers different means of language are used. The Language is informal in most cases [with the exception of advertisements like job ads] and ellipsis is often used. In the research material on peculiarities of compounding in advertising is included as well. The author also concludes that to attract customers different media and rhetorical devices are used. Advertising placed mostly in the print press is included in the research.
