Citāda izglītības sistēma: valodu mācīšanās starptautiskajās skolās

Abstract

Pētījums veltīts franču valodas jeb papildvalodas apguvei Latvijas Starptautiskajā skolā. Teorētiskajā daļā apskatīta starptautisko skolu sistēma, izglītības koncepcija un filozofija, programmas izveide un uzszkati par svešvalodu mācīšanu un mācīšanos. Mağistra darba mērķis ir izpētīt faktorus, kas nodrošina kvalitatīvu papildvalodas apguvi. Teorijas saistība ar praksi realizēta gadījuma izpētē: franču valodas stundu novērošanā un to priekšnoteikumu analīzē, kas sniedz lieliskas valodas zināšanas. Novērošanā un intervijās ar starptautiskās skolas skolotājiem un skolēniem, kā arī veiktajā aptaujā iegūtie dati liecina, ka daudzus šīs skolas valodas apguves elementus var veiksmīgi integrēt valsts skolās, tādējādi veicinot svešvalodu mācīšanos jaunākajās klasēs.

The present study is dedicated to the investigation of the ways and means of teaching and learning French, called an additional language in the International school of Latvia. The theoretical part deals with the discussion of the International school system, their philosophy, the concept of International education, curriculum design and views on language teaching and learning. The MA thesis aims at investigating the factors that ensure successful language development. It relates theory to practice in a case study: observing French lessons and analyzing the prerequisites for a good command of the language. The data obtained as a result of classroom observation, analysis of the interviews with the teachers and students and the questionnaires indicates that many elements of teaching may be integrated in the state school system to enhance foreign language learning at an early stage.
