Bakalaura darbs pēta rakstības stilu interneta filmu recenzijās. Interneta filmu recenzijas raksturo savs stils, t.i., neformālais stils. Autore izvēlējās divus žurnālus - The New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly un divus laikrakstus – The Times, The Guardian un veica tajos publicēto filmu recenziju leksikas un sintaktisko analīzi.
The bachelor thesis examines the style of writing online film reviews. The online film reviews can be characterized by their distinctive style, i.e. informal style. The hypothesis of the bachelor thesis is ‘the film critics use features of the informal style as the main technique to attract the readers’ attention and to entertain’. Two magazines The New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly and two newspapers The Times, The Guardian were selected and the lexical and syntactical analyses of the online film reviews in them were performed. The purpose of the analyses was to examine ‘spoken’ and informal traits in online film reviews. The research data are summarized in a table and presented with the author’s commentaries. The research reveals that the form and the content of the online film reviews are strongly affected by the features of the informal style. The bachelor thesis gives explanations why the film critics use many features of the informal style – because of the need for ‘colloquial and relaxed written communication’ with the reader and to attract readers’ attention and to entertain.
