Maģistra darba Teātra mūzikas raksturs un funkcijas: Latvijas pieredze 21. gadsimtā mērķis ir: veikt pētījumu par mūzikas izmantojumu latviešu dramatiskajā teātrī.
Postdramatiskā teātra situācijā, kāda konstatējama arī Latvijā nu jau vairāk nekā desmit gadus, principiāli mainījusies arī mūzikas loma, tai ir daudz patstāvīgāks raksturs nekā iepriekš, kad tā galvenokārt veica tikai divas funkcijas: radīja emocionālo atmosfēru, diktēja temporitmu. Tagad mūzika ir kļuvusi par daudz patstāvīgāku darbības personu, kura attiecībā pret izrādes darbību var ieņemt komentētāja (nopietna vai parodiska) lomu, aizvietot darbības personu utt. Paralēli dramatiskā teātra izrādēm tiks aplūkoti arī dažādi muzikālo izrāžu tipi, ko iestudē dramatiskajos teātros.
Darba uzdevumi ir: 1) klasificēt mūzikas pielietojumu teātra izrādēs pēc attiecīgām vienojošām / atšķirīgām pazīmēm; 2) teorētiski un ar piemēriem raksturot teātra mūzikas funkcijas šodienas teātrī. The aim of the master’s study The functions and Character of the Theater’s Music: the 21st century’s Experience of Latvia was to investigate the exploitation of music in the Latvian drama theater.
In the situation of postdramatic theater what exists in Latvia for more than ten years, the role of music is principially changed. Now the music plays more significant role as before, when it created only emotional atmosphere. In nowadays music is more important, it plays the role of the text and sometimes can even replace it. Different types of musical theater performances are analyzed in this master’s study.
There were two main tasks. The first was to clasiffy the application of music in the plays due to conjunctive or essentially different features. The second was theorethically and with a number of examples to characterize the functions of music in nowadays theater.
