Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izlūkot tēmas, izmantojamās sentimentālistu literārajos darbos, kā arī tēlus, kurus sentimentālisti plaši lietoja, lai atspoguļotu savas jūtas un domas par to, kas notika tajos laikos. Pirmajā nodaļā autore apskata Lielbritānijas vēsturi, kura ietekmēja sentimentalisma attīstību. Otrajā nodaļā autore sniedz priekšstatu par sentimentalisma literatūras kūstību un pieminē ievērojamākos sentimentālistus-dzejniekus. Praktiskā nodaļa apraksta tēmas un tēlus Tomasa Greja, Edvarda Janga, Džeima Tomsona un Olivera Goldsmita dzejā. The aim of the present Bachelor Paper is to explore the themes reflected in literary works of sentimental tradition, as well as imagery used extensively by sentimental poets to express their feelings and states of mind about the surroundings. In the first chapter, the author looks at the British history and culture of the 18th century, which gave rise to the sentimental literary movement. In the second chapter, the author gives an insight on the nature of the sentimental literary movement and its most prominent representatives. The practical part is devoted to the description of the themes and imagery reflected in the poetry of Thomas Gray, Edward Young, James Thomson, and Oliver Goldsmith.
