In the retrospective descriptive study, data were collected using a dedicated data collection form from 160 pregnant women cards, analyzes were based on the exclusion criteria, 127 pregnant women were used as data. The study group data were statistically processed and analyzed in the presence of anemia, the Hb level during pregnancy, serum ferritin levels during pregnancy, vaginal candidiasis existence, pregnant women age, body mass index (BMI), and the number of pregnancies.
The average age of the pregnant woman in the study was 29.3 years. The average BMI of the study population was 22.3 kg/m2. In the study included pregnant women anemia in the third trimester of pregnancy was 21.3%, vaginal candidiasis in the third trimester of pregnancy showed 29% of cases. A statistically significant difference between groups of pregnant women for anemia and vaginal candidiasis aspect was not proven using Pearson's chi-square test, p = 0.135.
Although the hypothesis, that there is a relationship between the presence of anemia in pregnant women and vaginal candidiasis development at the end of the pregnancy, is not proven, there is still such observation in clinical practice. To completely rule out or confirm the truth of this observation there should be made methodologically well developed, correctly and accurately performed prospective cohort study of pregnant women selected accordingly to the number of the study population.
