| dc.description.abstract | Cukura diabēts ir hroniska slimība, kas raksturojas ar paaugstinātu glikozes līmeni asinīs. Saslimstība ar cukura diabētu visā pasaulē, tai skaitā arī Latvijā, strauji pieaug. Galvenie riska faktori, kas ietekmē cukura diabēta attīstību ir neveselīgs uzturs, mazkustīgs dzīvesveids, smēķēšana, kā arī virkne dažādu vides un ģenētisko faktoru.
Bakalaura darba mērķi bija:
1. izpētīt diabēta attīstības mehānismus un cēloņus, 1. un 2. tipa diabēta ārstēšanas metodes, terapijā biežāk lietotos recepšu medikamentus un to nevēlamās blakusparādības;
2. izpētīt diabēta medikamentu apgrozību “A aptiekā 11” no 2012. līdz 2013. gadam, izvērtēt pieaugošo tendenci saslimt ar cukura diabētu.
Tika secināts, ka 2012. un 2013. gadā populārāko izrakstīto medikamentu vidū ir metformīns (biguanīdu grupa), gliklazīds (sulfonilurīnvielu atvasinājums) un insulīns.

| dc.description.abstract | Diabetes is a chronic disease, characterized by chronically high blood glucose level. The number of people with diabetes is increasing worldwide, also in Latvia. The main risk factors for diabetes are unhealthy lifestyle, increased physical activities, high prevalence of smoking, also many genetic and environmental factors.
The objective of the bachelor`s work was:
1. to explore the mechanisms and development of disease, treatment startegies for type 1 and type 2 diabetes, common medications used for diabetes treatment and their side effects;
2. to explore the consumption of diabetical medicament movement in drug store “A aptieka – 11” in the year of 2012th - 2013th with aim to observe trends of incidence of diabetes.
It was concluded that the most popular prescribed medications in the year of 2012th - 2013th was metformin (a biguanide), gliclazide (sulfonylureas) and insulin.
