Atslēgas vārdi: līdzdalība, sabiedrisks radio, atgriezeniskā saite, klausītāji, Internets In the bachelor’s work the research hypothesis was defined – in the influence of possibilities offered by today's Internet and other new media, the participation opportunities provided by the “Latvian Radio 1” to audience are not extensive.
Topicality of the research accent the fact the Internet and others technologies has affected traditional media too by requiring wider interactivity with their audience. Moreover the society has become more exigent to media content that they get.
In the theoretical part of the bachelor work the view on public media and modern media audience characterization is given. By reposing on statements of several theoreticians and media researchers, it is explained, why the participation of audience is necessary and the impact of Internet on radio traditional format is featured. There are also viewed possible ways of participation of radio listeners, what offers feedback, radio as channel of public communication and citizen journalism.
The research was carried out by analyzing LR1 broadcasts with content analysis and with the help of radio workers by filling semi-structured interviews. There was concluded that defined hypothesis has partly proved as true. The possibilities of LR1 listeners to join and participate over the airwaves within limits can be describe as wide but in the Internet two way communication options with radio are not wide for LR1 listeners.
