Bakalaura darba ‘’Sabiedriskās televīzijas loma Latvijas sabiedrības integrācijā’’. Mērķis ir noskaidrot un izvērtēt vai un kā Latvijas sabiedriskās televīzija veicina integrācijas procesus Latvijas sabiedrībā, analizējot gan programmu piedāvājumu, gan arī atbilstošus dokumentus, kā arī izpētot TV amatpersonu viedokļus un mērķauditoriju vērtējumus.
Teorētiskajā daļā tiek izmantots franču sociologa Emila Dirkema (Emile Durkheim), kā arī Rainera Strobla (Rainer Strobl), Tolkota Pārsonsa (Talcott Parsons) un Mairona Vīnera (Myron Weiner) koncepcijas par sabiedrības integrāciju. Kā arī mediju pētnieku Lizas Gitelmanes (Lisa Gitelman) un Džeimsa Potera (W. James Potter) darbi. Noskaidrotas tie arī auditorijas vajadzības un skatīšanās motivācijas balstoties uz Alanu M. Rubinu (Alan M. Rubin), Denisu Makveilu un Džei Blumeru (Denis McQuail, Jay Blumer).
Pētījuma daļā ir izmantota fokusa grupa, kurā intervēti 7 krievvalodīgo Latvijas iedzīvotāju respondenti, kuri izteica savu viedokli par Latvijas televīzijas kanāliem LTV1 un LTV7 un izvirzīja savas atziņas. Kā otra metodoloģiskā pieeja ir strukturētās intervijas ar LTV7 satura redaktori, NEPLP valdes priekšsēdētāju un valdes locekli, kā arī Kultūras ministrijas Sabiedrības integrācijas departamenta Informatīvās vides integrācijas nodaļas pārstāvjiem. Pētījumā ir salīdzināti LTV1 un LTV7 ar komerckanāliem LNT un TV3, izvērtēti to piedāvājumi un balstoties uz TNS datiem izsecināta programmu lietojumu izvēle skatītāju vidū, kā arī aplūkoti raidījumi, kuri spētu pildīt potenciālo integrācijas lomu televīzijā. Pētījumā konstatēju, ka ierobežota finansējuma un nepārzinātu auditorijas vajadzību ietekmē, sabiedriskā TV neveic efektīvi sabiedrības integrācijas uzdevumus. Tā rezultātā tiek piedāvāti daži konkrēti priekšlikumi sabiedriskai televīzijai. Atslēgvārdi: sabiedriskā televīzija, auditorijas vajadzības, integrācija. Bachelor research work ‘’The role of public broadcasting in integration process of Latvian society’’. The aim is to identify and assess whether and how the Latvian public broadcasting contributes to the integration processes in the Latvian society, exploring the program offers, the appropriate documents, as well as exploring the views of guidance and TV audience ratings.
Bachelor paper theory used from the French sociologist Emile Dirkema (Emile Durkheim) and Rainer Strobl (Rainer Strobl), Talcott Parsons and Myron Weiner conceptions about integration of the society. Theory part are used works of the media researchers such as Lisa Gitelman and W. James Potter, also clarifying the viewing audience and motivation on the basis of Alan M. Rubin, Denis McQuail and Jay Blumer.
Part of the research has been used in the focus group, which interviewed seven respondents in Russian - speaking Latvian residents who expressed their views about Latvian television channels LTV1 and LTV7 and put their knowledge. As a methodological approach are structured interviews with LTV7 content editor, National Council for Electronic Media Board Chairman and Board Member, as well as the integration of the Ministry of Culture Department of information Department of environmental integration. The study compared with commercial - LTV1 LTV7 and LNT and TV3, assessed on the basis of the tenders and the TNS data to infer the usage choice among viewers, as well as addressed in programmes that are able to fulfill the potential integration role on television.
The study found that the limited funding and manage audience needs, public TV does not carry out effective integration tasks. As a result, there are some specific proposals to public television.
