Bakalaura darbā pētīti bērnu lasīšanas veicināšanas pasākumi un bērna motivācija lasīt. Darba mērķis ir apzināt un analizēt šo pasākumi ietekmi uz bērniem, efektivitāti lasīšanas veicināšana un bērnu attieksmi pret tiem.
Bērni ir lietotāju grupa, kurai jāpievērš īpaša uzmanība. Pētījums veikts balstoties uz teorijām par bērna psihes īpašībām konkrētajā vecumposmā, motivācijas veidošanos un veicināšanu, intereses radīšanu, apskatīta dažādu iestāžu pieredze lasīšanas veicināšanā.
Empīriskajā daļā tiek aplūkoti konkrēti lasīšanas veicināšanas pasākumi bibliotēkā, rezultāti, bērnu attieksme pret tiem un bibliotēkas pakalpojumiem vispār.
