Migrācijas procesu ietekme uz sociālo tīklu veidošanos un sairšanu (Ārzemju studenti Latvijā)

Abstract

Darba nosaukums: „Migrācijas ietekme uz sociālo tīklu veidošanos un sairšanu(Ārzemju studenti Latvijā)”. Galvenie darba mērķi ir izpētīt sociālo tīklu maiņas norisi (jaunu kontaktu veidošanās, veco uzturēšana vai sairšana) migrācijas ietekmē, noskaidrot sociālo tīklu lomu profesijas un studiju vietas izvēlē un aplūkot akulturācijas procesa norisi mītnes zemē. Pēc iestāšanās Eiropas Savienībā Latvijā būtiski pieauga ārzemju studentu skaits, līdz ar to aktuālāki kļuva ar tiem saistītie jautājumi. Par šī darba mērķa grupu izvēlēti Latvijas Universitātes medicīnas fakultātes studenti no ārzemēm. Datu iegūšanai izmantotas daļēji strukturētas intervijas ar 10 studentiem no dažādiem studiju semestriem, kā arī novērojumi viņu dzīvesvietā un studiju vietā. Daļēji strukturētās intervijas ļāva uzzināt respondentu migrācijas ietekmes interpretāciju, savukārt veiktie novērojumi palīdzēja precīzāk interpretēt viņu sacīto. Izmantojot sociālo tīklu teoriju un akulturācijas teoriju tika veikta interviju analīze. Iegūtie rezultāti ļauj izprast sociālo tīklu nozīmi dzimtenē un Latvijā, veidu un funkcijas, apzināt kontaktu uzturēšanas un jaunu tīklu veidošanas stratēģijas, kā arī novērtēt studentu integrācijas pakāpi sabiedrībā.

The title of master thesis is: „The Impact of Migration on Formation and Destruction of Social Networks (International Students in Latvia).” The purposes of work are to explore the process of changing networks (formation of new contacts, maintenance and decomposition of old ones) under impact of migration, to realize the influence of social networks on choice of profession and place of study and to inquire into the process of acculturation. After joining the European Union there was a noticeable increase in amount of international students in Latvia and the different issues connected with them became more important. The object of this research is a group of international medical students from University of Latvia. The method of data collection is partly structured interviews with 10 medicine students from different courses and observations made in their studying and living places. The method of partly structured interviews gives an opportunity to find out the interpretation of students about impact of migration, but the observations allowed construing the given information more precisely. Interviews were analyzed using the Social Network theory and Acculturation theory. The findings of analysis help to understand meaning, function and kind of social networks in homeland and Latvia, to realize the strategies of maintaining and constructing relationships and to estimate the level of integration of students into the local community.
