Darba galvenais mērķis ir izvērtēt dažus Windows 7 operētājsistēmā bezmaksas pieejamos ugunsmūrus, kā arī dažus iptables ugunsmūra konfigurācijas rīkus Ubuntu 9.10 operētājsistēmā, pēc to funkcionālām iespējām un veikto drošības testu rezultātiem, un sniegt ieteikumus funkcionālā ziņā labākā un drošākā ugunsmūra risinājuma izvēlē.
Darbā sniegts ieskats ugunsmūru vēsturē, to attīstības līmeņos un darbības pamatprincipos, kā arī ar anketēšanas palīdzību tiek izvērtēts, vai datorlietotāji izmanto funkcionāli labāko un drošāko ugunsmūra risinājumu.
Darba ietvaros apskatīta portu skenēšana, ehotestēšana, „rupja spēka” uzbrukums paroļu nozagšanai, attālināta pieslēgšanās, kā arī ir veikts pakalpojuma atteikuma uzbrukuma mēģinājums. The main objective of this work is to estimate several firewalls in Windows 7, which are available for free, and several configuration tools for the built-in iptables firewall in Ubuntu 9.10 by their functional possibilities and the results of the security tests performed, and to provide an advice for the choice of the best in functionality and the most secure firewall solution.
In this work author gives an insight in the history and development levels of firewalls, and in their basic principles, also with the help of a questionnaire estimates, if users of computers use the best in functionality and most secure firewall solution.
In this work a port scanning, pinging, a brute force attack for password stealing, remote access and denial-of-service attack attempts are discussed.
