This aim of the BSc thesis "Interaction between Carbon Nanomaterials and Humic Substances Using Toxicity Tests” is to assess the toxicity of carbon nanomaterials, and study how their toxicity changes in interaction with humic substances.
Nanomaterials are studied extensively due to their potential applications, and in recent years also attention is being paid to the nanotoxicity research regarding the fact that nanomaterials could be released into the environment causing pollution and cause health risks.
Rotoxkit F (Brachionus calyciflorus) toxicity test results show that nanomaterials affect the toxicity in nanomaterial and humic substance solutions in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). The fluorescence spectroscopy results used to assess the interactions between the humic substances were biased by nanomaterial aquatic solution preparation method.
