Bakalaura darbā tiek aplūkota reklāmas valodas tulkošanas teorija un prakse, kā arī tiek noskaidrots, vai reklāmas valoda pieder pie speciālā lietojuma valodām. Darba mērķis ir noteikt mēdiju valodas, it īpaši reklāmas valodas, raksturīgās iezīmes, raksturot starpkultūru kompetences nepieciešamību un noteikt to ietekmi uz reklāmas valodas tulkošanas procesu. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek aplūkota mēdiju valodas un starpkultūru kompetences nozīme un loma reklāmas valodas tulkošanas procesā. Teorētiskajā daļā apkopotā informācija tiek izmantota izvēlēto reklāmas tekstu tulkojumu analīzē un patstāvīgajā tulkošanā. Izdarītie secinājumi ir balstīti uz analīzes rezultātiem, kurā tika salīdzinātas identiskas angļu un vācu valodas reklāmas, to vizuālie materiāli un teksti. Analīzes gaitā iegūtā informācija ļauj secināt, ka reklāmas tulkojumos izmantotā valoda atbilst teorijā aprakstītajiem nosacījumiem - tā ir vienkārša, radoša un izmanto daudzus šķietamus nozaru terminus, lai pēc iespējas veiksmīgāk uzrunātu potenciālos klientus. Darba rezultātus un secinājumus iespējams izmantot turpmākiem pētījumiem.

The present paper investigates the best means of translating the language of advertisements in theory and practice, taking into consideration the concept of the language for special purposes. The theoretical part deals with the role and aims of the language of the media and cross-cultural competence in translating advertisements. The research paper aims at exploring the characteristics of the language of the media, especially the language of advertising and describing the importance of the cross-cultural competence and their effect on the translating process and results. It relates the theory to practice by using the theoretical material for analysis of the translations of a selection of advertisements. The conclusions drawn are based on the results by comparing identical advetisements in both english and german languages. The data obtained indicate that the language used in translations of advertising corresponds to its conditions given in the theoretical part - it is simple, creative and many apparent terms are used in order to attract the potential customers. The result and conclusions of this research may be used for further investigations;
