Šajā bakalaura darbā uzmanība ir koncentrēta uz Fatimas tēlu islāmā un sniedz viņas tēla salīdzinājumu divos islama atzaros: sunnītu un šiītu islāmā. Bakalaura darba mērķis bija analizēt Fatimas tēlu, apkopojot avotus, kas raksturo Fatimu, viņas dzīvi, viņas lomu vēsturē un kultūrā. Bakalaura darbs parāda, ka pastāv būtiskas atšķirības lielākajā daļā aspektu sunnītu un šīitu attieksmē pret Fatimu. Sunnītu kultūrā viņa tiek uzskatīta par vienu no pravieša ģimenes locekļiem, citiem vārdiem, vairāk kā vienkārša sieviete. No otras puses, šiītu kultūrā viņu godina un novērtē kā sievietespilnīgāko ideālu, pravieša meitu un šīitu imāmu māti. Darbs sastāv no trīs nodaļām, ievada, secinājumiem un diviem pielikumiem. Pirmās divas nodaļas sniedz kopēju ieskatu musulmaņu kultūrā un abu nozaru- sunnītu un šiītu- atšķirībās, kā arī vispārēju Fatimas aprakstu. Trešā nodaļa analizē Fatimas tēlu abās kultūrās, balstoties uz to literatūru, un sniedz pamatojumu, kas apstiprina hipotēzi..

The present bachelor paper focuses on the image of Fatima in Islam and provides the comparison of her image in two branches: Sunnite and Shiite Islam. The aim of the paper was to examine the image of Fatima by summarizing sources which describe her life, her role in history and culture. The paper shows that there are significant differences in most aspects of Sunnite and Shia attitude to Fatima. In Sunnite culture, she is treated as one of the Prophet’s family members,, honorable but lacking any special importance. On the other hand, in Shiite culture she is worshiped and valued as the best example of a woman to follow, the woman who is respected and intelligent enough to bring up the Prophet’s grandsons. The paper consists of three chapters, introduction, conclusions and two appendices. The first two chapters provide brief introduction into Muslim culture and outline the differences of the two branches, as well as provide a general description of Fatima. Chapter III analyses the image of Fatima in both cultures and their literature and presents the grounds to validate the hypothesis.
