The chosen theme is topical because in today's world of communication, relationships between people are necessary and often unavoidable. In order to successfully communicate with other cultures, one should not only be well informed about the culture or history of a sertain nation, but also should show interest in specific ethnopsychology. There is a need to deepen the understanding of different mentalities arising from social, political, spiritual and cultural life in the face of integration processes. This work will examine some of the many Japanese ethnopsychological features and national character dichotomies. The aim is to research the most important features of Japanese national character, and prove that some of them changed in the Japanese post-industrial society. During the study the works of Russian and Japanese psychologists and sociologists were used.
