Šis bakalaura darbs vērš uzmanību uz „Tūkstošs un vienas nakts” pasaku varoni Alāu ad Dīnu Rietumu kultūrā. Galvenais mērķis ir pierādīt, ka šis tēls jau ir neatņemama Rietumu kultūras sastāvdaļa, un iepazīstināt lasītāju caur grāmatu ilustrāciju, multiplikācijas un mākslas filmu apskati un analīzi ar pasaku varoņa atainošanas veidiem. Darbs aplūko arī tirdzniecības nozares, kurās lieto Alāu ad Dīna vārdu, tādējādi ilustrējot tā izmantošanu ikdienā. Izpētes centrā ir šī tēla mijiedarbība ar Rietumu kultūru un no tās izrietošās metamorfozes. This bachelor paper focuses on „Thousand and one night” fairy character Alāu ad Dīn in Western culture. The main aim is to show that now it is already an imprescriptible part of Western culture and to introduce the reader with manners of representing this fairy tale character through inspection and analysis of book illustrations, animation and feature films. The work also deals with trade sector where the name of Alāu ad Dīn is often used, thereby showing its use in everyday life. At the centre of the research is this character’s interaction with Western culture and resulting metamorphosis.
