Darbā tiek pētīts Apgaismības laikmeta ideju slavinājums A.Poupa darbos, ņemot vērā, kā šī filozofiskais virziens ir ietekmējis rakstnieka daiļradi.
Tāpat dotais darbs nosaka galvenās Apgaismības laikmeta idejas un analizē šī perioda nozīmīgumu A. Poupa dzejā un pasaules skatījumā. Īpaša nozīme tiek piešķirta Apgaismības laikmeta idejām dzejnieka daiļradē.

The paper explores the praise and high regard of Alexander Pope for the Enlightenment ideas, considering how this philosophical movement has influenced Pope’s poetry.
The present research also defines main ideas of the Enlightenment and analyzes the importance of this movement for Pope’s poetry and his creed. The paper emphasizes the presence of the Enlightenment ideas in works of Alexander Pope.
The paper has proved that the Enlightenment is a significant cultural and spiritual movement of the 18th century, but also that Alexander Pope is undoubtedly the greatest English poet and one of the most significant figures of the Enlightenment.
