The given paper deals with the history of Druidism in general, and particularly with Neo-Druidism. It provides an overview of the origin, development and characteristics of Druidism on various stages of its development. The present theme was chosen by the author for the reason that Druidism comprises an important part of the cultural heritage of the Indo-European peoples, and Neo-Druidism is a way of exploring this valuable legacy, as well as a way to adapt it for the needs of the today’s modern world. Moreover, in spite of the fact, that the given theme has been several times investigated by various scholars, it yet provides a rich field for the further research. The goal of the paper is to investigate the shapes which Druidism takes today, and to find out how various groups of modern Druids differ from the ancient Druids. As well as to explore, how the perception of Druidism varies from one group of modern Druids to another by means of comparative analysis of three prominent Neo-Druidic organizations. In her study the author has compiled and investigated various theoretical sources, and conducted an analysis of the available materials.
