Bakalaura darbā tiek pētīts specializētās leksikas pielietojums kontekstā. Lietotā leksika vai vārdu krājums atšķiras atkarībā no nozares. Katrai nozarei ir sava specializēta leksika. Neišens (Nation, 2001) ir pētījis specializētās leksikas pielietošanu. Ekonomiku raksturojošā leksika ir specializēta leksika, tā tiek lietota medijos, piemēram, žurnālos, lai aprakstītu izmaiņas ekonomiskajā situācijā. Ekonomiskā krīze jeb lejupslīde ir aprakstīta, izmantojot vārdus jeb leksiku, kas to raksturo. Tā atšķiras no leksikas, kas tiek lietota citās nozarēs, jo tiek lietoti vārdi, kas raksturo dažādus jēdzienus, kas raksturo ekonomisko krīzi. Tādēļ izpētes darba autors veic detalizētu ekonomisko lejupslīdi raksturojošās leksikas izpēti.
Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt ekonomisko lejupslīdi raksturojošās leksikas pielietojumu kontekstā. Pētījumā pielietotā metode ir kvantitatīvā analīze, tā ir uz korpusa balstītā leksiskā un semantiskā analīze. The use of specialised lexis in context is investigated in the BA thesis. The used lexis or vocabulary differs depending on the field. Every field has its own specialised vocabulary. The use of specialised vocabulary was studied by Nation (2001). The vocabulary related to economics is the specialised vocabulary; it is used in media, e.g. magazines to describe the changes in economics. The economic crisis or recession is described using words or lexis that characterise it. It differs from lexis which is used in other fields, because words are used to describe different concepts which characterize economic crisis. Therefore, detailed investigation of lexis related to economic recession is done by the author of the research paper.
The goal of the BA thesis is to study the use of lexis related to economic recession in context. The applied research method was quantitative corpus-based lexical semantic analysis of economic recession related words via concordancing.
