Politika un bioētika: cilvēka cieņas arguments gēnu medicīnas kontekstā

Abstract

Bakalaura darba mērķis ir analizēt, skaidrot un izprast saistību starp politiku un bioētiku, cilvēka cieņu, cilvēktiesībām un to, kā šis jēdziens ietekmē vai neietekmē gēnu medicīnas attīstību un funkcijas. Saskatīt šo jēdzienu iespējamo nozīmes zudumu un apdraudējumu un ko tas radītu, kā arī iespējamo nākotnes transformāciju un alternatīvas. Darbā tiek izvirzīta sekojoša hipotēze: Cilvēka cieņas koncepts nav nodalāms no gēnu medicīnas un bioētikas, taču mūsdienu pasaulē pieaugošā racionālisma, tiesiskuma un globalizācijas ietekmē, nepieciešama koncepta pielāgošana atbilstoši attīstības tendencēm. Darba rezultātā var secināt, ka cilvēka cieņas argumentam gēnu medicīnā ir būtiska nozīme un saskaroties ar šīs jomas ētisko un morālo problemātiku, cilvēka cieņas arguments var kalpot par avotu veiksmīga risinājuma piemeklēšanai visām iesaistītajām pusēm. Taču mūsdienu straujās attīstības apstākļos, šis jēdziens nevar tikt uzskatīts par absolūti fundamentālu, jo analizējot piemērus saskatāma tendence ētikas un morāles normu relativitātē un izmaiņās, izmaiņās sabiedrības vērtībās kopumā.

The aims of this bachelor’s thesis are to analyze, explain and understand the relevance between politics and bioethics; human dignity, human rights and the way this concept affects or unaffects the development and functions of medical genetics. To see if there is a possible loss in meaning of the concept of human dignity within the medical genetics. See for possible alternatives or transformations of the concept in its future development. This thesis is based on a following problem question: Concept of human dignity can’t be absolutely divided from bioethics and medical genetics, however, in the rapidly developing impact of rationalism, justification and globalization in our world, there is a need for developing the concept of human dignity, according to development tendencies. As a result the concept of human dignity really has a crucial role in the medical genetics and bioethics. It is a basis for successful decision making process when there is a discussion of ethical and moral issues in medical genetics. However, in the rapid development of our world, the concept of human dignity can’t be looked at as absolutely fundamental. By analyzing examples, there can be seen a change of the understanding of ethical and moral values in the society.
