Abstract
Maģistra darbs „Eiropas Savienības loma starptautiskajā klimata politikā: 2009.-2013.gada izvērtējums” piedāvā analīzi par ES lomu ANO formātā notiekošajās klimata pārmaiņu sarunās. Par darba teorētisko ietvaru tiek izmantota Hāsa, Levi un Koheina piedāvātā pieeja, ar kuru analizēt valsts lomu multilaterālās sadarbības kontekstā. Darba empīriskajā daļā tiek analizētas klimata pārmaiņu konferences (20092013) ar mērķi identificēt, vai izvirzītie starptautisko sarunu ietekmes nosacījumi, ir klātesoši un palīdz ES nodrošināt savām interesēm atbilstošu konferenču iznākumu. Maģistra darbā izvirzītā hipotēze nav pierādīta, jo pēc konferenču analīzes noskaidrojas, ka nosacījumi ir klātesoši, tomēr tie nav veicinājuši Eiropas Savienības interesēm atbilstošu konferenču rezultātu.

Master’s thesis “Analysis of European Union’s role in the global climate policy: 2009 2013” offers a thorough analysis of the EU role in the climate change negotiations in the framework of the UN. The theoretical framework of thesis is devised for assessing the role of states in the context of multilateral cooperation. In depth analysis of climate change conferences (20092013) is presented in the empirical part of the thesis, aiming to identify whether the conditions defined in the theoretical framework contribute the ability of the EU to ensure conference outcomes corresponding to its interests. The hypothesis is not proved, as even though the conditions did fulfil at the conferences, those did not contribute to the outcomes in the interests of the EU.
