Abstract
Master thesis is written in Latvian. It contains 57 pages, 36 figures, 3 tables, and 27 references. Keywords: fatigue, pupil, Stanford Sleepiness Scale, response time. Purpose: develope and test methodology for fatigue assessment which is based on pupil diameter changes. Methods: pupil size in the dark was recorded for 6 healthy participants. Pupil diameter was measured from the records. Also participants response time were evaluated. Results: all pupil parameters differed between midday and evening. One pupil parameter - the cumulative variance - showed good correlation with subjective assessment of fatigue (r = 0.97). Conclusions: developed method can be used in objective fatigue assessment because cumulative variance correlates well with subjective assessment of fatigue.
