Abstract

Maģistra darbā – Pilsētas reģenerācijas iespējas Latvijā – izvirzīts jauns instruments pilsētu attīstības veicināšanai, kura pielietošana nodrošinātu vides, sociālās jomas, ekonomikas un kultūras nozaru nozīmību konkrētas pilsētas teritorijas dzīves vides kvalitātes un konkurētspējas uzlabošanā. Balstoties uz Lielbritānijas pieredzi, izvirzīti priekšnosacījumi un mehānismi Latvijas reģenerācijas politikas īstenošanai, pierādot nepieciešamību meklēt jaunas pieejas Latvijas pilsētu problēmu risināšanai. Pilsētas reģenerācijas mehānismu praktiskā ieviešana apskatīta Rīgā, Bolderājas apkaimē, kuras problēmu risināšanai būtu nepieciešams pielietot īpašu attīstības iniciatīvu. Pētot Bolderājas apkaimes specifiku un konkrētas teritorijas Mančestrā reģenerācijas projektu, izstrādāti priekšlikumi Bolderājas apkaimes reģenerācijas pilotprojekta uzsākšanai. Pētījuma rezultāti pierāda, ka pilsētu reģenerācijas būtu efektīvs instruments Latvijas pilsētu integrētas attīstības veicināšanai, kuru iespējams realizēt jau šobrīd, neieguldot lielus finanšu un cilvēku resursus.

Master thesis – Urban regeneration opportunities in Latvia – has bring forward with a new tool for urban development stimulation, improving environmental, social, economical and cultural importance in specific city area, encouraging areas quality of life environment and competitiveness. Based on the British experience, has developed preconditions and mechanisms to implement regeneration policy in Latvia, proving the need to seek new approaches to solve problems of Latvian cities. Urban regeneration mechanisms practical implementation deals in Riga, in neighborhood of Bolderaja, whose problems would be necessary to use a special development initiative. Through analysis study of Bolderaja and concrete regeneration project in Manchester neighborhood, developed proposals for Bolderaja regeneration pilot project. Results of this research indicate that urban regeneration would be an effective instrument for Latvian city integrated development that can be realized already, without big financial and human resources.
